Connecticut turned back Cincinnati
Connecticut turned back Cincinnati to reach the Sweet 16. (AP Photo)After spending Connecticut’s first tournament game on Thursday setting up his teammates, guard Kemba Walker resumed his normal role as scorer, picking up 33 points and adding four assists and five rebounds. Freshman Jeremy Lamb added 14, and Alex Oriakhi had 10 rebounds. Cincinnati, which ran around and over smaller Missouri in its first Tournament game, could not match size and quickness often enough, although the Bearcats kept most of the Connecticut players other than Walker in check defensively. After getting so much production both inside and outside in that game, only forward Rashad Bishop was able to score consistently. He finished with 22, and his 3-pointer with 15:56 left tied the game at 39.
